Covid-19 Update: November 2020

As the Coronavirus pandemic develops and continues to impact our daily lives, we appreciate that not only does it present challenges globally but also the emphasis it has on the importance of technologies and services such as Logit.io. We know how critical our platform is to our customers’ business operations and critical infrastructure, so we wanted to share our commitment to you, our customers, and inform you of the approach we have taken to ensure our service continues with a high standard of functionality and availability, during these unprecedented times.

We will continue to proactively monitor global developments and news of the severity of the Coronavirus pandemic from the World Health Organisation (WHO) amongst other sources and guidelines, such as local government guidelines in Manchester, where our head office is based. Here at Logit, we are committed to continuously assessing and augmenting our Business Continuity Plan accordingly and in line with our audited ISO27001 and PCI Level 2 Service Provider standards, ensuring the continuity and support of our colleagues, customers and communities.

Our priority here at Logit is to protect the safety and well-being of our colleagues, clients and customers, whilst we continue supporting healthcare, financial and critical infrastructure organisations which rely on our service. We are here to support you during this time of uncertainty.

Our Employees

As of March 2020, Logit directed all employees to work from home until further notice. In addition to this, we introduced further steps to reduce the risk of infection and support the health and safety of our colleagues, including restricting all business travel, suspension of face to face meetings, cancelled all events, meet-ups and conferences, and shared best practice health tips with our teams.

Whilst we continue to work as usual, Logit has over the years, built a culture where employees can work remotely. As a cloud-based SaaS company with an extremely strong infrastructure, we are prepared to manage business continuity challenges virtually and have taken the time to reassess the capabilities of our collaborative technologies, communication channels and equipment to help minimise the disruption to our service and workflow. We are confident that our systems and processes enable our colleagues to continue doing their jobs effectively and securely whilst remote working.

So from us all here at Logit, we would like to thank you for your continued trust and support and wish you, our customers, good health. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or enquiries at support@logit.io

Stay Safe.

The Logit Team.

πŸ“‘ New Help Article: What happens if I go over my daily log volume limit?

Our team have recently written another new help article to help you make the most of the Logit platform. We've included a sample of our newest article on what happens if you over your daily log volume limit for your reference below;

What happens if I go over my daily log volume limit?

At times you may go over the amount of data that your plan allows, when this happens you will see a 'Stack Limit Reached' message.

Don’t worry, your data is safe and will continue to be sent to your ELK Stacks. All accounts include overusage protection and auto-scale to ensure that your data will be captured even if you exceed your plan level.

Tip: You may exceed your plan level by up to 100% on any three days in a rolling 30 day period.

If this is exceeded, your plan will automatically resize to match the new volume, this will ensure that any data loss is prevented. If you have highly variable log volumes, please get in contact with us via live chat or by using our contact us form to help find a correct plan for your needs.

πŸ“„ πŸ’« Help Centre Article Update: How can I view my Logit ELK stack usage and daily log volume?

Our team has been working to improve much of our help centre documentation that users frequently find helpful when using the platform. We've included a copy of the most recently updated article below for your reference;

How can I view my Logit ELK stack usage and daily log volume?

Daily Log Volume

Upon logging into your account, the stack usage dashboard page displays your daily log volume.

You can use this, along with an estimate of the percentage of logs that you have sent us.

How is Stack Usage calculated?

The Logit platform calculates stack usage based on the total disk used for Elasticsearch indexes for a given day.

The values used to display usage in the statistics page are calculated using the max index sizes and data directly gathered from your Elasticsearch stacks.

Viewing your usage statistics

After logging in, for any stack, choose 'Settings' > 'Statistics' to dive deeper into your usage.

If you have concerns about your usage accuracy, viewing the Elasticsearch _cat/indices value does give you an indication of how the usage data correlates.

Use the URL below to view your indices.

[STACK ID]-es.logit.io/_cat/indices?pretty=true&s=index&v&apikey=[API KEY]

How to use the code:

  • Replace [STACK ID] with your stack id, which can be found in your dashboard.
  • Replace [API KEY] with your API key, which can be found on your stack settings page.
  • Open the URL in your browser.
